More than you want to know about Smokie Sizemore, CPCC

Smokie is an executive business coach and founder of The Smart
Woman’s Club. Her introduction to coaching came from experience
as she worked with a coach to facilitate her exit from the
business she started in 1983 to pay tuition for a college
bound daughter. A 3 year plan to relocate, rename and refocus
the business was made. In 1997 the business was sold, one
year earlier than planned. The results spoke for themselves.
In 1998 she became a coach, graduating from The Coaches Training
Institute. The Certified Professional Co-Active Coach designation,
among the highest in the industry, was achieved in 2000. In
March, 2005 she was the Visiting Coach at Beijing Language
and Culture University in Beijing, China. In summer, 2005,
she designed and piloted the Coaching Program for the United
Way of Great Richmond and Petersburg Emerging Leaders’ Program.
Currently she serves on their Advisory Board to expand their
Emerging Leader Coaching Program.
Understanding entreprenuers’ drive and her desire to support
executives with corporate responsibility were the impetus
to coach executives with a business focus and a specialty
in knowledge retention and succession planning. In that arena
another passion jumped up. She found she was working with
many women – regardless of their position or income - who
are in their life where she had been – just going through
the motions of life without affirmation and support that she
was smart and able to accomplish what she wanted. The idea
festered, grew and birthed the Smart Woman’s Club.
In addition to being a coach, trainer, motivational speaker
and angel investor, she is a published author and adjunct
faculty member at John Tyler Community College. Also she facilitates
corporate strategic planning meetings, conducts workshops
and holds retreats for corporations and individuals.
